The idea for the TruPress first began to formulate when Dr. Justin Johnsen was an Ophthalmology resident at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. The importance of the amount of pressure in the eyeball, especially in the setting of glaucoma, was repeatedly impressed upon his mind during his training. Yet, he noted that at the close of most intraocular surgical procedures, especially cataract surgery, the intraocular pressure was not measured in an accurate and adequate manner. How most surgeons measured the eye pressure was with a technique called manual palpation, literally pushing on the eyeball/globe with either their finger, or a blunt cannula. As one can imagine this is not very accurate nor reproducible, and always bothered him. He also realized that there were multiple applications for this device in various other surgical specialties, that would improve the accuracy and outcomes of multiple different surgical scenarios. So he decided to do something about this conundrum. He started a journey committed to solving this problem. Initially, the technology was unavailable to accomplish the intended goal. But after meeting his business partner, a patent attorney, Mr Jordan M. Cox, the technology was finally developed. With the help of the superbly talented engineers at Octogen Medtech, the TruPress was born and developed.     CO-FOUNDER/CEO/GENERAL COUNSEL

    Jordan M. Cox is a co-founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Counsel, bringing nearly a decade of legal experience with a focus on intellectual property and technology law. Admitted to the California Bar, Mr. Cox has advised clients on complex patent and software-related matters, drawing on his background at leading IP firms in Southern California. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. As both a legal strategist and business leader, Jordan guides the company’s vision while ensuring a strong foundation in innovation, compliance, and long-term growth. Mr. Cox also serves on the Board of Managers for the company.

    CO-FOUNDER/PRESIDENT/CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

    Dr. Justin R. Johnsen is the Co-Founder, President and Chief Medical Officer. A graduate of Emory University School of Medicine, he went on to serve as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Johnsen brings together deep clinical expertise and entrepreneurial vision, leading the development of novel technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes and transforming care delivery. He conceived and developed the first device concept, underscoring his commitment to bridging front-line medicine with cutting-edge innovation. He has contributed to teams that have obtained FDA clearance for Class III laser devices. Dr. Johnsen also serves on the Board of Managers.

    CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER/CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

    Joshua S. Johnsen is both the Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He bringing extensive experience scaling high-growth SaaS and medical technology platforms. He leads revenue strategy, operations, and customer success, with a proven track record of driving predictable, capital-efficient growth. Joshua has deep expertise in go-to-market execution, sales leadership, and building scalable systems that support rapid expansion. Known for building and leading high-performing teams, he aligns sales, product, and customer success to accelerate adoption, retention, and lifetime value. His leadership helps position the company for sustained growth, strong unit economics, and long-term enterprise value creation.

  • Michael Cassidy

    VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING AND SALES

    Mr. Mike Cassidy serves as Vice President of Marketing and Sales and is a strategic advisor with decades of experience in ophthalmic device commercialization. He previously served as Surgical Division Manager at Alcon, the world’s largest ophthalmic company, where he led marketing and business development for several flagship surgical product lines. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, he drove regional growth across the Southeast and built strong, lasting relationships with ophthalmologists, ambulatory surgery centers, and health systems. Mr. Cassidy is known for his ability to translate clinical innovation into effective commercial strategies and deliver sustained market success.

  • Aaron J. Porter M.D.

    STRATEGIC ADVISOR

    Dr. Aaron J. Porter, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with more than 28 years of experience serving the Dickson and greater Nashville, Tennessee area. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine with residency training at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute, Dr. Porter is a high-volume surgeon who has performed over 27,000 cataract procedures and 12,000 LASIK surgeries. He brings deep expertise in clinical care, surgical workflow, and patient outcomes. In addition to his practice, Dr. Porter serves as a strategic advisor for product design and marketing, offering valuable insight into practitioner priorities, patient needs, and insurance considerations.
