Our History
The TruPress solves a problem identified by Dr. Justin Johnsen as a resident at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He noticed that during surgical procedures at key moments, physiological pressure was frequently not measured but instead only estimated. Surgeons generally relied on a technique called manual palpation, which involves pressing on the surgical site with their finger or a blunt instrument. Palpation is quick and easy, but inaccurate. Dr. Johnsen was committed to solving this problem. He developed the TruPress, a revolutionary pressure sensing syringe for direct measurement of arterial or venous blood pressure for adult patients during vascular access procedures. The TruPress is self-calibrating, intuitive, and accurate.
